About flash-creations.com

Contact

This site was designed by me, Helen Triolo, to be used as an online accompaniment to DM2260: Flash Animation on the Web and DM3260: Flash II: ActionScript, courses that I teach at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington DC.

The Intro through Publish sections of the Notes pertain to the intro class, and are designed to introduce students with no Flash background to the steps involved in creating a Flash movie, using buttons and movieclips to control objects on stage, and publishing the movie for the web. In the Flash II: ActionScript course, we cover material in ActionScript Basics through ActionScript Classes sections.

I've also posted sections with ActionScript Samples and put up some of the content from my previous actionscript site (actionscript-toolbox.com, which I no longer own) in the ASTB Samples section.

The Notes section was designed to be a sort of online textbook, allowing a site visitor to start at whatever point in the sequence s/he is comfortable with and proceed in a logical order from there (going back to previous pages if needed to fill in gaps). I've also used print CSS to allow the page content to be printed in book-like form, without the navigation, headers, etc. Because any Flash book worth its salt also comes with a CD, I've done the equivalent here and made all the files I use in the lessons available for download. Some are available for free; others, which relate to the class content or are finished examples of things covered in the class notes, require a subscription, as described at right.
